Messengers who bring good news

When I first started this blog I really wasn't the kind of person who would go out winning souls for Christ, inviting people to church or talking to my friends about Jesus. And this had nothing to do with being ashamed of my God. (Because I represent Jesus hard! All day every day! No shame in my game!) But I just didn't want to bother anybody. In the past, when I invited people to church, I never felt like it made a difference in their life and it was discouraging. So I stopped.

Me too society

Pay careful attention to your own work,
for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done,
and you won't need to compare yourself to anyone else.
 -Galatians 6:4

Likewise. Dito. So am I. Same here. Me too this, me too that.

Don't get me wrong with this one. I love, love, love to serve as an inspiration to others. That's the whole point of this blog. But this whole comparison game is getting out of hand in this generation.

We are drawn to someone else's' life based on lies and how things seem on pictures. Basically for all the wrong reasons. When you set your mind on doing something there's always that one question you should ask yourself first: Why?

Because HE is - I am

The Bible is such an amazing book. It tells us everything we need to know about our maker, aswell as everything we need to know about ourselves.

In the book of Exodus 3:14 God introduces Himself to Moses as I am that I am or I will be what I will be. And God's name is a perfect picture of who God is to us, because He leaves room to add something to it.

Make room for the Overflow

The word "Overflow" didn't give me rest for weeks. I don't know why but whenever I heard the word overflow it did something to my spirit. And the funny thing was, I kept stumbling over this word everywhere. In songs, in sermons, in the Bible and in everyday life. And then there came a sermon of Pastor John Gray up on my YouTube suggestions with the exact title and it all made sense.

A gift of peace

I am leaving you with a gift- peace of mind and heart.
And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid.
- John 14:27 NLT

Why did Jesus leave us with this gift? Out of everything He could have left us with He gave us the Holy Spirit and Peace of mind and heart. As I woke up this morning this whole thing about peace concerned me deeply. So the Holy Spirit led me to this scripture. Everyone around me and even I myself were not at peace lately.

Oh so that's how you feel huh?!

There were times when I felt like God has forgotten about me. There were times where I felt unwanted. There were times where I felt like I was a failure. There were times where I felt like I did'nt have a purpose. But here's what this is: they were all just feelings. Feelings come and feelings go. One second I feel like I am  not going to talk to someone ever again and in the next moment I feel like they are one of the best blessings of God in my life.
