Why did Jesus leave us with this gift? Out of everything He could have left us with He gave us the Holy Spirit and Peace of mind and heart. As I woke up this morning this whole thing about peace concerned me deeply. So the Holy Spirit led me to this scripture. Everyone around me and even I myself were not at peace lately.
The enemy is after our peace of mind and heart and after our sanity. He is after our churches, communities and families by deceiving us and causing friction and confusion.
Divorce is a common thing to the world. Churches are falling apart because of money and power and nation is fighting against nation in wars. But that's not the only part we are lacking peace at. It is also affecting our hearts and minds. There is a good reason why Jesus left us the gift of peace of mind and heart aswell as His holy Spirit as our helper.
He must have known that we will be needing it most.
At times we act like we don't have peace or even like we don't deserve it. But peace is ours in the name of Jesus! Just look around. Even watching the news. Peace is pretty hard to find. And that's exactly what the world does: frighten. The world will fill us with fear and doubts everyday, but Jesus gave us HIS peace, a gift the world cannot give.
All we need to do is accept God's gift for us and reject the one the world is trying to force on us.
Then you will experience God's peace, wich exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
