Messengers who bring good news

When I first started this blog I really wasn't the kind of person who would go out winning souls for Christ, inviting people to church or talking to my friends about Jesus. And this had nothing to do with being ashamed of my God. (Because I represent Jesus hard! All day every day! No shame in my game!) But I just didn't want to bother anybody. In the past, when I invited people to church, I never felt like it made a difference in their life and it was discouraging. So I stopped.

I thought evangelism and preaching on the streets was for people who have something to say and I felt like I didn't. I loved the relationship I had with God but I felt like it just wasn't anybody's business. My best friend once told me that keeping a good sermon to yourself feels like a sin to her because it's just so selfish. And that's exactly what I was being: selfish.

But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him?
And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about Him?
And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?
And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent?
That is why the scriptures says,
" How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!"
-Romans 10:14-15

When I first wanted to start a blog, I planned on making it about plus size fashion and beauty and interior design so basically: about me. But I thank God for His guiding spirit that made me realise that, if you are going to share a piece of yourself it has to include Him.
My dreams and desires were all pointing to me and my own benefits. But now they point to God.

...calling me closer. Waking desire. Coming alive in Your name...
-Elevation Worship, Yahweh

So as I was walking this journey on starting a blog, God introduced me to young people who had the desire to spread the word and bring people to Christ, and this inspired me to do the same. We may not all be preachers or evangelists but we all, as the body of Christ, have the responsibility to build our ministry, be it just by smiling at strangers or being kind. So that when people look for God, they will find Him through us.

As a Christian, I know where to go when I am craving God's presence. Today we can go on YouTube and watch testimonies and amazing sermons by amazing online ministries. I can turn on a certain song, that will get me into the presence of God. Or I google, what does the bible say about... and get a million answers. Christians all over the world have made God available everywhere so that He can be found.

We need to preach the gospel like Jesus did so that His kingdom comes. I pray that in this season of our lives, God is going to make His will known to us. I pray that He keeps changing our minds for good and for His will. And that all glory will be given to Him in every idea, wish, dream or desire that we have. Amen.
