ALONE WITH GOD

Do you know the Snickers advert that shows the people completely out of their character when they are hungry and haven't had a Snickers? This is me, but it happens when I haven't been spending time alone with God. It's quite a relief to find out that I am not a crazy, annoying, and moody maniac but that I am in reality just deprived of time with God. When we feel that nudge that something is off with us, that we have been a lot more irritable and sensitive than usual, it's most likely God giving us a nudge to tell us: "Come talk to me. I want to tell you something." So many of our daily concerns, worries, and problems can be solved by simply sitting at the feet of God and being intentional about spending time with Him alone.

Jesus time is the remedy and solution to many daily struggles. So here are five reasons why you should spend time alone with God:

Growth: 5 reasons why you're not growing as a Christian Woman

If I had to give this season of my life a title I would call it "growth". As my 30th birthday is drawing closer and closer, I just can't help but reminisce on how far I have come as a person in the past few months. At the beginning of the year I made a very deliberate decision to stop complaining about the things in my life I didn't like and start putting the work in to change those exact things. Doing that has forced me to take accountability for the things that I actually can change in my life and the strength to accept the things that I am not able to control. The past few months have shown me how important it is to grow as a Christian woman. Growth is inevitable in our journey with Christ. It forces you to grow out of your comfort zone in order for God to take you from glory to glory.
Imagine seeing a baby on the day it's born and then 5 years later just to see that nothing has changed. The baby is still the same size. In diapers, not a hair grew, no teeth, and helpless. It wouldn't take a genius to tell that something isn't right here. But why don't we see it the same way in our Christian life? How can we claim to walk with God for years and years and yet there is no sign of growth?
Growth affects every area of your life. We must grow in our mindset. Grow in prayer. Grow in character and grow territorial. As much as it might be everyone's desire to grow in the things of God, many of us find it difficult. There are certain hindrances that we encounter as we want to grow. Instead of overlooking these hindrances in our characters that stop us from becoming who God wants us to be as women, it's time we face and overcome them. Here are 5 reasons why you're not growing as a Christian woman in your growth season.

God's time is now!

The Bible so well teaches us that for everything there is a time and a season. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to break down and a time to build up. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8). One of the most challenging things in our walks with God is to develop full faith in God's timing even after many years of walking with Him. We often come to God with our own timeline and schedules of what we want and when we want it. But today the Lord has laid it on my heart to talk to those of us who have started hiding behind God's timing and walking in disobedience and disregard to what God wants you to do right now.

One of the most profound lessons I have learned about the devil and the way he operates is that he is very limited in his power and ability when it comes to what he can legally do to God's children. In the story of Job, we see that he is actually nothing more than God's errand boy for whenever the Father wants to promote His children. That's why we often confuse the most difficult and trying times with God rejecting or punishing us when in reality it means that our time of breakthrough and upliftment is right around the corner.

Triumphant in Trials

Your girl had quiet a challenging week to say the least which is why you’re getting the weekly newsletter on a monday instead of a sunday this week. I mean as much as I am trying to be consistent with these posts (believe me, I am) life just be lifing at times and there are so many things going on at the same time that other things just have to wait.

From two bad news about family members health conditions, to our church members needing us, to people at work confiding in me, adding to our own stuff that we have going on, it was just a lot. But what I can say is that all though there were many opportunities for me to throw in the towel and give up, I stood tall. This week, God has shown me how much I have matured as a wife, a minister and a woman. When in past seasons all these things would have made me sink, this time I was able to swim. One of the greatest joys for every believer should be that we start stepping over the things we used to stumble over.

A Mother of Nations

Did I mention how excited I am that you’re a part of this Club? Well let me just say it again, I am so happy that you’re here and want to grow in your spiritual journey with God.

The year is still quiet fresh and it’s never too late for us to step into all God has for us and to become the women He has called us to be.
This week He wants you to know that He is raising mothers. And that has nothing to do with your age, marital status or season in life but everything to do with you being willing to allow God to use you for His glory.

GRATITUDE IS AN ATTITUDE

Hey, Soul sisters! How has your heart been lately? I know that's a bit of a deep and maybe even a bit of a weird question compared to the ordinary "how you doin'?" but it's a necessary one for all of us. Once in a while, I like to do a heart check and let God examine me to see if there's any iniquity in me. Well, actually God likes to do a heart check and point out things in me that He dislikes to stretch me and grow me. It's not the most comfortable and glamorous part of Christianity but it's necessary.

NAKED AND NOT ASHAMED!

And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Genesis 2:25 NKJV

It's spring, guys! The sun is out in Hamburg, the birds are chirping and the days are finally getting longer which means we're getting closer to summer by the day. March is a beautiful month and it happens to also be my sisters Birthday month. So as the good sister that I am, I decided to book us a Thai Massage as a nice Sister-Spa-Birthday idea. We've both never been professionally massaged before so we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.

Let's just say the first 5 minutes I was in pain because the lady was climbing on top of me.The next five minutes I was desperately trying to hold in my farts and laughter and after that I was just downright embarrassed and uncomfortable. Why? Because the she kept pulling down our pants and massaged our butts... I know, that's a lot of information but I'm trying to draw a picture.

I was just so confused about the entire situation and wondered what it is that I booked and how I ended up lying there with my pants pulled down to my knees. I also couldn't help but ask myself what my husband would think of this. After all, he's the only one who is supposed to see my cellulite, my stretch marks and the way I look when I'm not covered up. And this reminded me of Adam and Eve and how the Bible tells us that they were both naked but not ashamed.
