The Bible so well teaches us that for everything there is a time and a season. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to break down and a time to build up. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8). One of the most challenging things in our walks with God is to develop full faith in God's timing even after many years of walking with Him. We often come to God with our own timeline and schedules of what we want and when we want it. But today the Lord has laid it on my heart to talk to those of us who have started hiding behind God's timing and walking in disobedience and disregard to what God wants you to do right now. One of the most profound lessons I have learned about the devil and the way he operates is that he is very limited in his power and ability when it comes to what he can legally do to God's children. In the story of Job, we see that he is actually nothing more than God's errand boy for whenever the Father wants to promote His children. That's why we often confuse the most difficult and trying times with God rejecting or punishing us when in reality it means that our time of breakthrough and upliftment is right around the corner.
I have come to understand that what the enemy can't destroy, he delays. He cannot destroy you, he doesn't have that power. He cannot stop you and he definitely cannot kill you. But what He can do is delay you by telling you lies: "You're not ready, there are so many people who are better than you" and the list goes on and on and on. With these lies, he stops you from going after the abundant life God has promised you. He causes you to hold back and procrastinate.
How many Christians are claiming that they are waiting on God while God is actually waiting on them? How many are talking themselves out of their appointed time in the name of "God's time is the best?" How many are postponing their breakthrough because the enemy has deceived them that their time has not yet come?
One thing about being in the will of God is knowing God's timing. Jesus was so much in alignment with the will of the Father that He always knew when His hour had not yet come and when it was time for the prophecies to be fulfilled. At a point where people wanted to kill Him, He had to escape because He knew that the prophecies that had to lead up to His death were not all fulfilled yet. And when they wanted to crown Him King, He also knew that the time for Him to be glorified had not come so He ran away. Jesus walked in perfect alignment with God's timing.
But there was one time in the life of Jesus where He needed someone to encourage Him and tell Him now is the time. Step out into your calling. And that was His mother at the wedding.
“Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”
John 2:4
This moment in Jesus life shows us that all though He was on a divine timeline and knew what He came to do on earth being fully God but also fully human. And being human means being hesitant at times. Jesus initially telling His mother that He wasn't ready and then performed His first miracle just moments later is not a contradiction. It simply means that if Mary, His divine helper didn't push Him at that time, He would have probably procrastinated what He was supposed to do.
For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Esther 4:14
I don't know who needs to hear this but God is saying: "My time is now. This is your season. This is the appointed hour for you to step into all I have for you."
In a world where many Christians are rushing ahead of God there are some who have been chilling for too long in the name of 'I'm waiting on God.' Some of you have even been under a strong deception that is hindering you from seeing that the enemy is delaying you where he can't hinder you. I have come to announce to you today that the set hour, yes the appointed time has come to favor you.
If you're of age to get married take it by force. If you're in your baby making years you will have them by force! If God gave you that business idea, the time is now. If He called you into that ministry then right now is the time to be bold and step into who He has called you to be. There shall be no more delay! What are you waiting for? God's time is NOW!
You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her; the appointed time has come.
Psalm 102:3
