A SEASON OF EXPECATION

Surely there is a future [and a reward],And your hope and expectation will not be cut off.
Proverbs 23:18 (AMP)

In this post, I want to write a little bit  (or a  lot...it's all about perspective) about expectations. The reason being; that this word has been really strong in my heart lately and I have probably driven everyone around me crazy with it. I guess that's just how God communicates with me. He drops a single word into my spirit and then torments me with it until I get what it is He wants to tell me. It's crazy how just one single word can have so much power. That's why we need to be careful about every single word we speak and about every single word we accept. Because words are like seeds and they will bring forth something. We should never underestimate that. But let me get to my actual topic for today because that's a whole nother post.


What I feel God want's from us in this Season is for us to have an expectation. I am not a big fan of new years resolutions at all, that's why I never have any, but I feel like 2018 is different.

God is saying: "expect something; because I am about to exceed your expectations according to Ephesians 3:20."

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us
Ephesians 3:20

We get disappointed so we lower our expectations. But I need you to change your mind this season and say for every disappointment I am going to double my expectations. Because God is not a man the He should lie, neither are His ways your ways. I need you to stand against all odds, go against anything rational or realistic and have some audacious faith that expects something from God. 

What does the world tell us about expectations? Don't have any. 

The lower your expectations the lower the chances of someone not being able to meet them. Here is the difference though. What we are not going to do this year is o put our expectations in Man. We will not expect anything from anyone but God. Man will fail they are human. We will not look to Man for approval. We will not look to man for validation. But we will rather take all our hope and place it in the only One who is able to do anything! 

God will meet your expectations this season. As we place our hope in Him and as we trust Him and expect Him to come through He will not disappoint. The expectations of the righteous shall not be cut off.

For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him [whoever adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] will not be disappointed [in his expectations].”Romans 10:11 (AMP)

Expect a move of God. Expect miracles, signs, and wonders because God is about to do something crazy this time! Do you expect God to do something average or something significant? It's all about the hope we carry into this season. What do you expect from someone who has lied, cheated and betrayed continuously? Not much, right. But what can you expect from someone who is faithful, who is gracious and kind and forgiving? From someone who is consistent? Expect everything!! God has a track record of coming through.

There is a woman in the Bible who must have had crazy expectations. And that is the woman with the issue of blood. She came into the presence of God full of expectations. 

for she thought, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.”Matthew 9:21

Just this one sentence shows so much about her mindset. She was just so sure about it. She knew if only she could get a hold of the hem of his Garment, she would be fine. That's a great expectation. She expected a change in her health and this is exactly what she got. Just like that woman, I dare you to expect bigger and expect greater. Don't settle for mediocre when God wants to blow your mind.
