MIND GAMES

I've won a lot of arguments, had some amazing conversations, did some bad stuff, experienced a couple of amazing love stories, kissed some handsome men and achieved some amazing things...in my mind.
Just the fact that a simple thought can make you cry, scare you or discourage you shows how much power thoughts actually have. That's why the most important conversations we have are the ones we have with ourselves in our minds. God has really exposed me to some of the strategies of the enemy. The enemy knows how much power thoughts have, that's why he has been attacking our minds so much. The Bible tells us that as a person thinks in his heart so he is Proverbs 23:7)

Some of us are tormented in our minds. The enemy keeps playing thoughts and pictures of our failures and mistake until we believe we have become our mistakes and failures. In some of us, he plants suicidal thoughts, self-harming or depressing thoughts. In others, he places thoughts of lust and sexual immorality.
I have found the enemy attacking me in my mind when I go to bed at night because that's when all sorts of thoughts come up. Especially us women of God who have boyfriends or a crush on a guy we need to be very careful by guarding our minds. we can't daydream about a man all day, building an entire future with him because this too is a form of idolatry in our hearts.



As Children of God, I feel now is the time for us to take our minds back. The enemy has been messing with us long enough. Today, I want us to take our minds back in the name of Jesus. Let's declare war on the enemy and his little seeds he has been planting into our minds. Enough is enough. Our minds belong to God, we have the mind of Christ (1.Corinthians 2:16) and we will not allow for the enemy to take possession of our minds any longer.

1. We need to be quick to rebuke

A thought happens in a moment, in a blink of an eye. And once we think it we can't unthink it. And the point is not to unthink any thoughts we have had our aim is to bring any thought that is contrary to the word of God under the authority of Christ, our aim is not to unthink anything but to rebuke the thoughts that will cause us to sin, our aim is not to unthink any thoughts but to send them right back to the pit of hell where they came from. Never entertain the thought. The moment we dwell in it, it gets hard to get out of it.
You should ask yourself does that thought align with the word of God? The moment we notice that the thoughts we're having are lustful, depressing or even suicidal, every alarm in your spirit should go off and rebuke that thought in the name of Jesus. We take hostage every thought that contradicts itself against the word of God and we bring it under the authority of Christ. (2. Corinthians 10:5)

You should be like, wait a minute there enemy...I can't be a failure because my Father in heaven said that I am an overcomer (Romans 8:37) There has to be a reason for me being alive because His word says that He knows  the plans He has for me (Jeremiah 29:11) and Jesus said that He came so that I may have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10).
The lies in your head have to be overpowered by the true (!) word of God. For You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. (John 8:32)

And this brings me to point two.

2.) Know the word of God

The word of God is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our paths (Psalm 119:105). The word of God is alive and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). The word of God is power, it is healing and it will help you overcome the enemy anytime he attacks. When you know the word the enemy can't tell you nothing. This is what Jesus did in the wilderness. The devil was never able to get into his head because He knew the word. I have noticed about myself that I know the word but I don't know where exactly it is in the Bible. I can type in the whole scripture but don't know where it is. This too is a weakness the enemy could use for my disadvantage. If we know how to recite the latest song because we love it we should know the words our Father has spoken even more.

3.) Watch what you feed yourself

There is no way that you can feed your flesh secular music, binge-watch every series on Netflix, gossip, lie and be negative all day and have the mind of Christ. It doesn't work like that. You can control your thoughts by controlling what you take in. Suicidal thoughts, depression, and doubt cannot stand when you fill your heart with worship, they can not stand when you dive into the word of God daily and speak words of life.
A thought is not supposed to keep you hostage we are to take our thoughts hostage and control of our minds. I am not trying to tell you what you should and shouldn't watch or what kind of music you should listen to. But the Bible says all things are allowed but not everything is good for you and nothing shall by any means have power over you. (1. Corinthians 6:12)
We are supposed to think of whatever is lovely and worthy of praise. (Philippians 4:8)
Carefully and in prayer observe what you're feeding yourself regularly.

My prayer for you:
Father in the name of Jesus I ask that you will renew the minds of your children according to Romans 12:2. .I come against every suicidal thought, every lustful thought, every thought of fear, anxiety, and discouragement. I declare that we have a sound mind according to 2. Timothy 1:7. Any thought that stirs up depression we come against it in the name of Jesus and bring it under the authority of Christ because we have the mind of Christ. I declare that your mind is free from the power of the enemy and that you will set your mind on things above (Philippians 4:8). We curse every single thought that is contrary to the things of God. For you oh God know the plans you have for us, they are plans for good and not for evil. Your thoughts about us cannot even be numbered. So, God, we ask that you fill our minds, Spirits, and souls with thoughts that will glorify you and honor you. Thoughts that will reveal to us what your good and perfect will is for us. This we pray in Jesus Name, Amen.
