Childish

And He said: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children,
you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
- Matthew 18:3 NIV

You know kids. When they hurt themselves they come to their parents screaming and crying and complaining like they need an ambulance even though they just tripped. I don't know if this is something only german parents do but they blow on the pain. And the child will believe that the pain has been blown away by their parent.

I really never got what Jesus meant by saying we need to be like children to inherit the Kingdom of heaven. To me it was a contradiction to growing and maturing in Christ.

But looking at this, children actually make pretty wise decisions. When they are hurting they run to their parents. They don't stand in a corner trying to fix it themeselves. They don't ask someone their age to fix it.They automatically run to their parents. Why? Because they know that daddy is going to be able to sort this out for me. Or mummy is going to have a solution to my problem and because they trust them.

Why is it that when we have a problem we run to people first for advice instead of calling on the One who we know has all the answers?

Another thing we do is dwelling on our pain. As soon as a parent breathes on it the pain is gone and they are back to playing like nothing ever happened. It's crazy how fast kids go back to their toys and forget about their pain. I can get so mad at times and rethink a situation over and over again stiring up that anger and pain instead of going to my heavenly Father like a child and ask Him to breathe on it. Breathe on my anger. Breathe on my pain. Make it go away so that I can move on and get back to what you called me to do Lord.

...Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,...
-Ephesians 4:26 NIV
