So, this is kinda, sorta a big deal right here. 'Cause after almost two years of blogging and calling this a Christian, beauty, and lifestyle blog, this is my first beauty related post. I know! Crazy, right?! So, now that you all got the memo that your girl is legit saved (Hallelujah!) let's talk beauty.
Anyone who knows me knows that my favorite place in the world is my bedroom (lol.) The only place that'll actually make me leave my bedroom is the bathroom. I spend so much time in there luxuriating and spoiling myself with a good playlist or sermon playing in the background. So today I want to share a little bit of what I do in there all the time (I know my family and friends wonder) and 4 items used in the Kitchen that you should start taking to the bathroom with you from now on.
So here we go:
Lemon and Lime
What I do every morning before my workout is drinking hot water and lemon to detox my body. But this isn't the only thing I do with lemons. 2-4 times a week I cut some lemons or lime and take them into the shower. Lemon is amazing to clean your armpits and your private area. It makes you feel fresh and clean and lightens up dark under arms at the same time. Just cut the lemon (or lime. Same difference) and rub it on your underarms and around (girl, I said around, don't go in there and say Ashley told me. Nah!) your vagaga. Rinse it off with water afterward, and you're all done.
Coconut Oil & Olive Oil
If you would ask me what I couldn't go a day without it would be good Christian music, my phone and coconut oil. Coconut oil is life. It's great for the hair and skin. I use coconut oil or olive oil before I shampoo my hair as a hot oil treatment or I mix it into my conditioner. You can also apply the oils to your wet hair as they air dry to give them a beautiful, shining finish. Coconut oil is perfect for removing your makeup or to use as a moisturizer overnight. Use coconut oil instead of expensive shaving creams and it will leave your skin feeling like satin.
✫Bonus: Make sure you clean the bathtub whenever you use coconut or olive oil in your shower to make sure no one slips!
Sugar & Coffee
No one needs dead skin for anything. So in order to guarantee smooth skin at all times make sure to peel your skin with sugar or coffee at least 2 times a week. Just mix some lemon juice with the sugar for a foot peeling or coconut oil and coffee for a body peeling to revive your skin and fight cellulite.
✫Bonus: Use a peeling each time before you shave to remove dead skin. It smoothes the area and you're less likely to cut yourself.
Chamomile and Black Tea
I know how stressful skin breakouts can be but I might have a cure. Just boil hot water, put it in a large, deep bowl, add 4 chamomile tea bags and sit over the steam under a towel for 10-15 minutes. You can press the wet tea bags on your worst areas afterward and thank me later.
To fight the dark circles under your eyes, just put black tea in hot water, take them out and squeeze the excess water out. Let the tea bags cool off and put them in the fridge. Take them out once their cold and put them on your closed eyes for 15-20 minutes.
✫Bonus: Before you steam over the chamomile tea, wash your face and apply coconut oil to your skin. Sweating it out over the steam will help pull out even more of the dirt from your skin.
That's it, guys. I hope I was able to tell you something new and I'm looking forward to doing more posts like this. Let me know what you think about it by leaving a comment under this post or on my Instagram. Until next time my loves. Be blessed, be beautiful and be inspired.
Love, Ashley
