The human spirit is the lamp of the LORD that sheds light on one's inmost being.
-Proverbs 20:27
As believers, I believe we have the gift or the ability, to see people for their spirits. We hear things like "I really love your spirit, it is so uplifting" or " I just don't like this or that's person's spirit because it seems to weigh me down whenever I am around them".
And sometimes, one may not like another person for no specific reason that they could name but, there's something about them that they don't like and that most of the time has to do with their spirit.
Recognising someone's spirit reminds me of heaven.
For in heaven we will not have our human bodies
as we have them now, and I believe we will not recognise a person for their face
or clothes or distinctive voice,
but instead recognise their spirit.
And I love the idea of that.
The world, when referring to someones spirit, often uses terms like "vibes" or "mojo". We all read these positive quotes on social media everyday like - positive vibes only or -who needs swag if you have mojo. But for us as believers it goes beyond uplifting posts on social media, it is about the spirit of God inside of us and for the Holy Spirit to place inside of our spirits the ability to comfort and help and guide, just as He does so that people may be drawn closer to your spirit and by that closer to the heart of our heavenly Father.
One quote I really love says: People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.
And this is exactly how it is with God. There is something that keeps drawing us to Him...we are drawn to Him by the Spirit of God because of the way we feel whenever we come into His presence.
With this post I want us to become more aware of the importance of the seeds that God has planted into our Spirits and be make it a goal to make people feel good around us just as we feel good in the presence of God.
I pray for us that people may come to us and automatically connect to God because of our spirits and because of the Holy Spirit of God within us. I pray that whenever we appear in dark places our spirits will bring light. And that in times of confusion in this the holy spirit will bring clarity to our generation through us, so that people will recognise these gifts and wonder what exactly it is about us. And there will be only one answer, and that is that the spirit of God has come upon us, lives in us and works through us.
By seeing each others spirits may there be more of heaven on earth.
